I made my orginal piece, an embroidered collage of paper and fabric with found objects with a map of the world covering our travels from UK to Australia to Canada was done for a show called Navigations in Canada and the piece I have done now for this show Migration uses a reproduction on canvas of the orginal piece mounted on canvas, has now new embroidery but incorporates old pieces, objects including a pregnancy test, fabric packaging from Summer Sausage from Ontario, tickets and canvas reproductions of photographs of the family and significant people from my life as well as notes from my eldest son.
