ABScraft : Posting for With These Hands

For anyone interested in the arts in or from Wirral and as we enter the new season and the forthcoming Independents, I thought it would be a good idea to include all the exhibitions that are currently going on or impending that involve Wirral based artists.  Apologies if there any mistakes and in no particular order.....

INTROJECTION
Group exhibition at the Liverpool Academy of Arts.
25th September to the 1st of November, 12pm - 4pm daily, Tuesday to Saturday

A host of over one hundred jellyfish entice you into the extensive exhibition space. Vast 3D quilted and embroidered landscapes rest on double beds.  Bold, colourful paintings and delicate sculpture with photography line the walls.  In turns subtle and intricate, expressive and expansive, these works will both challenge and delight.

INTROJECTION will be part of the Liverpool Independents Biennial. It features work from five professional artists based in Merseyside and North Wales; Marie Louise Williams, Christine O'Reilly Wilson, Brenda Sharp, Damon Ravens-Turner, Marie Louise Mairs and Lisa Pugh.

No Voice
Curated by Jacqui Chapman
Bridewell Studios and Gallery, Prescot Street, Liverpool L7 8UL (near the entrance to Royal Liverpool Hospital)
Saturday 15th September - Thursday 27th September 2012
Open: 10:00 - 17:00 daily including Sundays - convenient nearby parking
Featured Artists: Jacqui Chapman, Tente (Enrique Tartabull), Kender (Santiago Ferrer),
The idea behind this international exhibition is to give a voice to those without one and to host them at the Liverpool Independents Biennial 2012. Located significantly in a former police station dating back to the 1880's, No Voice has a central theme of being in a state of exile. Artist Jacqui Chapman, an émigré from South Africa, with the assistance of Dr. Hilary Thurston, has collaborated with Cuban artists and poets in order to highlight their plight as exiles.
