Table for 8

MJMAN -
The Merseyside Jewellers and Metal Artists Network after a long break are serving a delicious smorgasbord of wearable contemporary jewellery designs inspired by food and fine dining at the Hope Street Hotel adjacent to London Carriage Works as part of Hope Street Festival - Feast.

"Table for 8" exhibition - 1 day only !

Sunday 18th September 12-4pm

Here are some snaps of my contributions, using old EPNS spoon bowls and adding hardwood handles over which I have randomly knotted wire both recycled and non-recycled, and still in the original box. The copper looking spoon was one I designed and made many moons ago at Edinburgh College of Art in my second year of jewellery and silversmithing, before I dropped the silversmithing. It was a spoon designed for someone with limited ability to grip, either a child or a mother feeding a child or for someone elderly and infirm. It is made of gilding metal...a metal designed to be gilded (but cheap when you are a student).
